hey this is just an idea, but how about in board topics you can have a combo box to jump from page to page?. this might work for users who are reading a topic (for example a game) and let's say you are on page 3 and there's 13 pages... in sted of jumping from 3 onwards (and clicking a few times) it would be cool if we had the option to just select the numbered page we want from a list. not only would it help the people playing the games, but also if you want to read the topic from page 1 and you're on like page 20 it would take like ages to get back
I like that idea. Wonder how easy/difficult it would be to implement?

Lol it kind of does! Nah but dont they have links to each page? But yeah that doesn't sound too bad! Like at the end, you have something that says "Go to page", and then a combo box type thing! Hmmmm, like it!

I love the idea. It would be nice if that were in board topics as well as in posts contained in the topic. You know how some boards have ridiculous amounts of pages dating back to god knows when.
As long as it's not one of those annoying combo boxes where as soon as you go down one, it automatically loads the page. But no, they've managed so far with the user combobox, so why not...
Yes, when I first read this topic, I thought of Blink Nation, too. I dont' like the way Blink Nation was set up at all, and so my first thought was to oppose this suggestion. But when I read Dan's post more carefully, I figured out that he was only talking about combo boxes as it pertained to navigating the boards, not all the links, like Blink Nation does. God, I pray this place never looks remotely like BN's set-up. Yuck.
thank you andrew, and yes... i do hate those type of boxes that you are talking about, nothing worse than trying to select an option and the page loads while the list goes right to the top, and no matter how hard you try you just can't select it
the chapter combo boxes are like that on fictionpress and fanfiction, you just have to be in forms mode and hit ALT plus the down arrow to stop that. I do agree that this would be a good idea, so you don't have to go through a tone of page links just to find the last page thingy.

As I understand it, this will be implimented at some point in the near future (when admin gets to it.) Good suggestion.
